SUMMARY

Express has a great opportunity for an Administrative Operations Clerk to join our clients team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to plant departments, including bi-weekly payroll processing, maintaining company records and reports, supporting training and apprenticeship programs, and administering electronic filing systems. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and works closely with the site Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).

Work Schedule: 8am-5pm

Wage: $28.00-$30.00

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Learning Management System (LMS) and Training Administration
  • Maintain the site-wide training and event calendar in SharePoint.
  • Update training materials as needed and upload content into the LMS.
  • Generate and distribute training compliance reports from the LMS.
  • Maintain local user roles and permissions in the LMS.
  • Coordinate instructor-led training with internal subject matter experts and external providers.
  • Support Westlake’s apprenticeship program by preparing quarterly updates, maintaining training records, and coordinating required documentation.
Human Resources / Talent Support
  • Support the off-site plant Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with day-to-day HR administration.
  • Assist in recruitment activities, including posting open positions and coordinating candidate communication.
  • Process new hire paperwork and maintain employee records in accordance with company policy.
  • Coordinate candidate interviews, travel arrangements, and onsite logistics as needed.
  • Support new hire orientation process.
Records Management and Document Control
  • Maintain plant records in accordance with the company’s document retention policy.
  • Serve as local administrator for the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Audit and upload new documents following established procedures and standards.
  • Run and distribute EDMS reports for plant leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain document templates and role-based procedures for EDMS use.
  • Maintain user roles and access rights in EDMS.
Plant Operations Support
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for plant employees in accordance with established procedures and timelines.
  • Compile, update, and publish plant performance metrics and reports for plant leadership.
  • Serve as a backup to plant logistics and shipping, including basic scheduling and documentation support when needed.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative assistance to plant departments (e.g., data entry, report preparation, meeting coordination, supply ordering).
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional business or college coursework preferred.
Experience
  • Prior experience in an administrative or clerical role required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Experience with HR, training, payroll, or document management systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Cornerstone, EDMS) preferred.
Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook required.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and to build productive working relationships across departments required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and in accordance with company policies.
