GeneralJob Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose and treat patients with neurological disorders, including epilepsy, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases and multiple sclerosis.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests such as EEGs, EMGs and lumbar punctures.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide emergency care and manage critical situations effectively.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
- Comprehensive knowledge of neurological diseases and disorders, and their diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
- Ability to interpret complex neurological data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in performing and interpreting neurological assessments and procedures.
- Collaborative skills to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training in neurology accredited by ACGME or AOA.
- Fellowship in a neurology subspecialty may be required.
- Board certification in neurology by ABPN or AOBNP.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in Washington.
- Most locum neurologist positions prefer candidates with at least one year of clinical experience.
- Locum tenens neurologist positions are temporary assignments often lasting weeks to months.
