CATEGORICAL PROGRAMS COORDINATOR - Administration
1.0 FTE to begin July 1, 2026. Closing Date: open until filled. Supervisor:
Executive Director of Teaching and Learning.
- Master’s Degree in education administration or related field. Current Washington State Principal and/or Program Administrator certificate or in a current program.
- Five years of increasingly responsible experience in school leadership, private or educational services.
- Three years of school administrative experience preferred.
- Ability to develop and supervise budgets, with experience in grant writing preferred.
- Successful experience in supervising and evaluating employees preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with students, staff and community.
- Knowledge and experience in Pre‑K through grade 3 early learning education and best practices preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Successful experience utilizing computer programs to enhance efficiency.
- Current knowledge of learning standards, assessments, and research‑based academic interventions.
- Successful experience collaboratively working with administrators and teacher leaders in the implementation of successful school/student programming.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of people in a multi‑cultural and diverse socio‑economic setting.

- Support the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning with federal and state programs including:
- Title I, Part A (Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act – includes ESSA compliance, Free/Reduced Program reporting, coordinating Title I requests from local private schools, and comparability monitoring and reporting.)
- State Learning Assistance Program (LAP)
- State Transitional Bilingual Instructional Program (STBIP)
- Title III (Federal Limited English Proficient)
- Highly Capable Program (HiCap)
- Support management of district-wide categorical budgets allocated for their respective areas to ensure compliance and alignment to district outcomes.
- Support procurement of program materials and contract services.
- Support the preparation and submission of annual categorically funded applications and program reports to OSPI for state and federal allocations.
- Assist the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning with High-Quality Instructional Materials review and implementation across all content areas including:
- Core Content
- Specialized Programs & Interventions
- Instructional Systems
- Assist the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning, administrators and school staff in the design and regular review of School‑Wide plans for Title I/LAP Enhancement schools to assure that all federal guidelines are articulated and adhered to.
- In concert with the Teaching and Learning Department, provide district-wide leadership in planning and coordinating research‑based interventions in core subjects including extended day and summer school opportunities during the school year and summer.
- Partner with the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning in designing and providing professional development related to curriculum implementation and evidence based practices for administrators, teachers, and staff including intervention, MTSS and other professional learning needs in alignment with district strategic plan.
- Participate in the selection, training, supervision, support, and evaluation of program staff.
- Assist the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning in the supervision and direction of the EL program staff, and Program Secretary.
- Assist the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning and principals in designing and coordinating procedures, practices, and events that encourage increased levels of family involvement.
- Assist in the development and implementation of programs for HiCap, English Learners (ML), and transitional kindergarten.
- Support the facilitation and coordination of regular meetings for K‑12 Bilingual staff, Title I and EL parent advisory committees, HiCap, Math and Literacy coaches as directed by the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning.
