Mathematics Adjunct Faculty

At a Glance! Lower Columbia College is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and creative adjunct instructor to teach courses in math.  Coursework may include Precalculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, and/or developmental math support courses.  This position will be responsible for teaching courses in mathematics. Courses are delivered through multiple modalities including online, hybrid, and in-person.

Contract rates:

Lecture rate is $80.68 per contact hour ($887.48 per credit).

Lab rate is $60.08 per contact hour ($1,321.76 per credit).

Field-based experience rate is $43.64 per contact hour ($1,440.16 per credit).

Adjunct faculty are hired on a quarterly basis as needed.

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

* Provide quality instruction in the classroom and online, adapting to a variety of teaching/learning situations, and maintaining up to date content.

* Teach and supervise group learning experiences, being responsible for maintaining a supportive learning environment.

* Effectively use computer applications/technology for instruction and communication as appropriate

* Assess, evaluate, and document student learning and achievement of course outcomes, and provide timely feedback to support learning including providing individualized support

* Communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as a member of the educational team.

* Respond effectively to feedback from students and colleagues.

* Uphold LCC policies and procedures.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's Degree in Mathematics, Statistics or a related field from an accredited institution.
