Contract Term:
Fall Season

Stipend: $5517 (Step
1) - $5966 (Step
2)

FTE: 1.0 (One Position)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Attendance at slowpitch clinics within the past four years.

3. Current first aid card or district approved athletic injury/sports medicine training.

4. A minimum of four years of successful high school slowpitch coaching is preferred.

5. Prefer an applicant who has played slowpitch at the collegiate level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Demonstrates knowledge of modern trends, techniques, strategies, playing rules, and procedures.

2. Develop programhave goals for improvement of total district and school athletic programs.

3. Coordinate the 9-12 slowpitch programs.

4. Organize, supervise, and evaluate practice sessions.

5. Responsible for developing game plan.

6. Develop and implement a safety plan that includes teaching of the proper techniques and fundamentals.

7. Adhere to all safety rules.

8. Has emergency medical plan in place.

9. Relate to staff members in a professional and effective manner.

10. Establish the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by staff.

11. Delegate specific duties, supervise implementation, and at season's end, analyze staff effectiveness.

12. Train and inform staff and encourage professional growth by encouraging clinic attendance.

13. Responsible for league, team, and individual statistics.

14. Adhere to scheduled facility times.

15. Provide for the recording of equipment inventory records, equipment issue, cleaning and repairing of existing equipment and ordering new equipment.

16. Provide for attendance, safety, playing, injury/training room, and discipline and performance records.

17. Instill in the player a respect for care and proper use of equipment and school property.

18. Inform parents of individual players regarding attendance, discipline, and injury.

19. Cooperate and communicate well with the news media, booster club, service groups, and the business community, developing community support for the slowpitch program.

20. Demonstrate appropriate sportsmanship with athletes, peers, and the public (particularly at sporting events).

21. Maintain contact with players during off season.

22. Motivate players.

23. Keep players informed of available camps, summer programs, etc.

24. Teach and discipline in a consistent and equitable manner.

25. Aware of and adhere to WIAA, league, district, and building rules and policies.

26. Implement team rules in accordance with the policies and regulations listed above.

27. Advise the Athletic Director and recommend policy, method, or procedural changes.
