Cardiac Sonographer – Follow Your Heart to the Pacific Northwest
Peace Health St. John Medical Center | Longview, WAFull-Time (1.0 FTE) Day Shift | Wednesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–6:30 PM
$48.71-$73.29/hr. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients receive timely, accurate diagnoses through high-quality cardiac imaging. You’ll work alongside a supportive team in a collaborative environment where your voice is valued and your growth is encouraged.
- Performs most appropriate examination based on patient information through consultation with interpreting physician and/or ordering physician as necessary.
- Records test results, prepares accurate preliminary reports with information appropriate to their scope of practice, and updates patient records for interpreting physician.
- Organizes daily work schedule and performs related clerical duties as required. May schedule and coordinate tests and prepare and maintain operational logs.
- Maintains and calibrates equipment and order necessary supplies.
- Prepares, supplies, and equips exam rooms to meet the needs of requested examinations and to meet specific physician requirements for procedures.
- Uses independent judgment during exam to differentiate, within the scope of their licensure, between normal and pathological findings.
- Integrates previous imaging studies, laboratory results, patient history, and medical records to optimize exam.
- Tailors exam to individual patient and utilizes the most appropriate equipment settings to provide most diagnostic information for interpretation.
- Performs other duties consistent with caregiver’s scope of practice, training, experience, and licensure/registration/certification.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Sonography program (or equivalent). Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound Technologist preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) (or registry-eligible)
- PACS/RIS knowledge required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross) required at hire
- Minimum of 1 year diagnostic ultrasound experience in a hospital facility preferred.
- Experience in Vascular is preferred, but not required.
- Ability to obtain ARDMS or CCI registration within one year if not already certified
- PACS/RIS knowledge
