Description

Position Overview

Performs wide array of direct and indirect services in the Crisis Services system. Indirect services include development and ongoing implementation of standardized clinical tools including Mental Status Exams, Continuous Quality Control, LRA Management and chart reviews, maintaining clinical quality within MCT through observation of staff and clinical functions, staffing, and compliance with state and local policies. Responsible for clinical review to ensure quality control and agency standards.

Direct services include assessment for persons experiencing acute/urgent emotional or mental problems. Emphasis is on outreach to the community as member of a team with the goal of diverting hospitalizations when possible, providing clinical guidance for Crisis staff, field supervisions, etc.

Summary of the

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Direct Service
  • Suicide risk evaluations and recommendations.
  • Crisis Counseling.
  • Referral and/or follow-up.
  • Location of clients by phone contact & home outreaches.
  • Assessment of client’s clinical needs.
  • Monitoring of LRA’s, including facilitation of court orders with community providers and programs.
  • Crisis Triage Services including:
    • Screening
    • Facilitation of Admissions/discharges
    • Monitoring of Status
    • Overseeing Continuity of Care
  • Conduct critical incident stress debriefings as requested.
  • Provide other clinical services as time permits.
Indirect Services
  • Clinical paperwork.
  • Document all phone and face‑to‑face contacts before the end of shift.
  • File documents describing problems, interventions, dispositions, referrals, and termination summaries.
  • Submit files to Director for review.
  • Identify methods of improving quality by reviewing clinical records and measuring data against agency standards.
  • Monitor LRA’s to ensure agency standards and state statutes are met.
  • Recommend continuous quality improvement.
  • Identify improvement areas and work with Crisis Director to establish protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with weekly clinical oversight for crisis staff.
  • Assist with other job demands as they occur.
Continuity of Care
  • Case consultation with community services, mental health therapists, family, and nursing homes, as appropriate, and with consumer's written consent.
  • Assist in triage and coordination with other staff for appropriate response levels.
  • Participate as member of the Crisis team and CW team at large.
  • Participate in the Agency's public education program.
  • Identify program needs and work with Director to enhance and develop programs and ensure service coverage and continuity of care.
  • Provide crisis intervention outreach services as appropriate; be continuously available during coverage periods, ensuring known location and contact methods.
  • Attend crisis response staff meetings and training meetings; attend workshops or seminars as identified by the Director of Crisis Services.
  • Attend other appropriate staff meetings and monthly in‑service training.
  • Provide consultation, education, and training for Crisis staff and other agencies as deemed appropriate by the Crisis Director.
  • Work under direct supervision of the Crisis Director; receive regular clinical supervision and/or consultation.
  • Participate in annual performance evaluation and develop individualized training plan.
  • Familiarize with laws and regulations governing emergency services and maintain legal, ethical, and professional standards.
  • Assist Crisis Director in implementing clinical protocols.
  • Coordinate clinical care standards for Crisis Services with the Director of Crisis Services.
Minimum Qualifications

The Mobile Crisis Team MHP shall have at least one year experience either past or present working as a MHP and shall:

  • Meet the qualifications of a MHP as defined in WAC 275‑56‑175: a psychiatrist licensed pursuant to Chapter 18.57 or 18.71 RCW, or psychologist licensed pursuant to Chapter 18.83 RCW, or a psychiatric nurse or social worker.
  • A person having at least a Master’s Degree in social work, behavioral, medical or nursing sciences from an accredited college or university, and having two years’ experience in the direct treatment of the mentally ill under the supervision of a MHP.
  • Be professionally registered or certified by the Licensing Department of the State of Washington as a counselor.
  • Have a valid Washington Driver's License, insurance, and automobile.
Salary

Starting at $35.15 + 2% for relief status. Depending on education and experience.
