DESCRIPTION:

The Technology Manager is responsible for leading and managing district technology infrastructure, policies, and services to support student learning, administrative operations and future growth. This role oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of all technology systems, including data collection, processing, reporting, and network infrastructure. Under the supervision of Executive Director Leadership, the Technology Manager oversees the development, execution, support, and evaluation of a robust and comprehensive information technology (IT) system.

Additionally, the Manager collaborates with district leadership to align technology initiatives with education and operational goals, ensuring seamless integration across schools and departments.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in the field of Technology, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Education, or related field
  • 2. Five years of experience in Technology Leadership Business Management, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 3. Demonstrated knowledge of technology systems, applications, system integrations, data management, and related technology operations
  • 4. School district experience preferred.
  • 5. Leadership, supervisory, or project management experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • 1. Supervise, evaluate, train, and delegate work to appropriate staff; make recommendations for employment.
  • 2. Plan, organize, and coordinate the development and advancement of district wide support systems including software, hardware, and other technology-related equipment to continually increase efficiency and effectiveness of District systems.
  • 3. Assist with the preparation, recommendation, and tracking of annual budgets and expenditures for Applications Support, Technology Services, and Network Services, and ensure cost effectiveness.
  • 4. Lead all aspects of the district's response to the annual Federal E-Rate program
  • 5. Develop, modify, and implement quality metrics for ensuring compliance with mission, vision, strategy, and objectives.
  • 6. Monitor and respond to legislative changes that require modifications to District systems and implement any changes in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • 7. Supervise the design and development of reporting models that conform to outside agencies' needs and that ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
  • 8. Coordinate technology integration in construction and renovation projects.
  • 9. Coordinate the extraction of data in response to requests from stakeholders in a format that allows them to make informed decisions.
  • 10. Recommend, coordinate, and deliver professional development activities for assigned staff to ensure current and best practices are reinforced and identified issues addressed.
  • 11. Implement procedures to monitor the timely replacement of hardware systems and computer software to ensure continuous improvement of technology equipment.
  • 12. Provide staff development opportunities by ensuring that stakeholders can maximize the use of equipment, software, and enterprise systems, especially when new or updated changes occur in technology services.
  • 13. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine technology needs and develop modifications which improve availability, performance, security, and productivity, and the network/system.
  • 14. Supervise the support and maintenance of network equipment and servers to ensure they are operating within established parameters.
  • 15. Oversee the administration, support, security, data integrity, and ongoing operation of the District's Skyward student information system, including supervision and direction of the Student Information System Coordinator.
  • 16. Provide leadership and project oversight for the district's migration from Skyward to Qmlativ, coordinating system configuration, data migration and validation, integrations, testing, training, documentation, and implementation across affected departments.
