Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Controller for a respected and mission-driven community-focused organization serving a diverse population in the Pacific Northwest. This is an on-site leadership opportunity located in Southwest Washington
.
The Controller is a key financial leader responsible for guiding accounting operations, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role partners closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning, budgeting, and compliance across multiple funding sources, including grants. The ideal candidate brings a collaborative leadership style and a passion for supporting programs that positively impact communities.

- Lead daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, and financial reporting
- Strengthen and maintain internal controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure regulatory compliance
- Oversee budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and grant fund management across multiple programs
- Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis, monthly reporting, and strategic recommendations
- Supervise and mentor accounting and grant staff, fostering collaboration and professional growth
- Coordinate with external auditors and ensure adherence to GAAP and applicable governmental standards
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting or finance operations within a complex or multi-fund environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, and financial reporting practices
- Experience working with grant funding, governmental, or community-based funding structures
- Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
- Proficiency with accounting systems and financial reporting tools
This position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $150k to $185k, depending on experience and qualifications. A comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions, generous paid time off, and paid holidays. Relocation assistance of up to $5,000 is available for eligible candidates.
