This position is designated as a hybrid role based out of our headquarters near Portland, Oregon. The current expectation is for employees to work onsite four days per week, subject to change based on business needs. This in‑office requirement may be adjusted at the discretion of the company.

Responsibilities

The International Distributors – Regional Merchandising Director leads the Apparel Merchandising team in the continued development and growth across channels. The role creates strategies focused on delivering consumer‑right assortments across the marketplace matrix, balancing brand‑heat initiatives with volume‑driving items.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the regional GM through the Go‑to‑Market process, leading product handover to sales.
  • Building strong partnerships with channel leaders to influence, define, and implement segmentation strategies that maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Developing and communicating the global merchandising plan and vision to senior management for approval, including long‑ and short‑term goals and global brand product strategy.
  • Maintaining open lines of communication across management, staff, and other departments to ensure smooth information flow and efficient organization operation.
  • Ensuring proper merchandising resources are employed to execute brand strategy.
  • Leading creation of regional merchandising strategies, seasonal and long‑term, covering line pricing, product flow, segmentation, and differentiation across all categories.
  • Owning sales‑meeting product content, executing planning processes, and delivering presentations that articulate focused strategies for successful product introductions.
  • Collaborating with sales management on budgets, intended outcomes, and coordination of agendas, timing, samples, and presentation format.
  • Participating in global sales meetings as needed.
  • Partnering with global product and other category merchandisers on short‑ and long‑term directional vision.
  • Aligning regional growth goals and consumer trends with broader objectives and ensuring stakeholder consultation during key checkpoints.
  • Influencing decisions through data and storytelling to secure regional needs.
  • Working with finance to manage margin and profitability for the seasonal product line to hit targets.
  • Leading work streams with costing, global merchandising, and finance to identify strategies that deliver profitability goals each season.
  • Building team expertise through analytical work streams and market/consumer knowledge.
  • Inspiring change at scale by influencing senior leadership decisions.
  • Possessing a growth mindset with strong learning agility and a team‑oriented leadership style.
Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master’s degree, or applicable certification, or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires 10 years of functional experience in merchandising leadership.
• Experience managing high level individual contributors and subordinate managers/sr. managers.
• Leadership and direction through multiple managers/sr. managers.
