Part‑time role details:
- .9 FTE variable‑shift Emergency RN
- Work three 12‑hour shifts weekly
- A wage range of $52.15–$77.39, dependent on RN experience, education, and the WSNA union contract.

St. John Medical Center is a 177‑bed acute‑care facility with a 37‑bed emergency department and Level III trauma center. It is part of Peace Health, a mission‑driven health system in the Pacific Northwest.
Position Details- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the health‑care record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of established hospital policies, procedures, and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
- May assist with trauma case review in conjunction with the Trauma registrar and/or Trauma Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Two years recent Emergency RN experience or recent completion of emergency nursing training program; related experience may be considered for part of the two years.
- Current Washington RN licensure or current multistate RN license.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
- PALS or ENPC, and TNCC required within one year of hire.
- Demonstrated independent management of cardiac, complex med/surg, pediatric, and trauma patients.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required).
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered work environment (Required).
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy, and procedures (Required).
- Basic computer skills (Required).
- Lifting: patient handling no greater than 35 lb. without assistive equipment; push/pull up to 45 lb.; hands‑on CPR at least 20 min using 100–125 lb. of force; frequent sitting; bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, kneeling; lifting non‑patient up to 20 lb. occasionally and 5 lb. frequently.
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids, and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
