Job Description

As an Emergency Nurse n Medical Center in Longview, Washington, you’ll be part of a collaborative team working together to ensure our patients receive exceptional care. This part‑time role includes the following:
- 0.6 FTE Night shift Emergency RN
- Work two 12‑hour shifts weekly, 1900‑0730
- 37 bed Emergency department
- Level III trauma center
- Mission driven healthcare system
We offer you:
- A wage range of $52.15 – $77.39. Hiring rate depends on RN work experience, education, and union contract.

- Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards.
- Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
- Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care needs.
- Documents patient care in the health‑care record according to established standards.
- Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of hospital policies, procedures, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
- May assist with trauma case review in conjunction with the trauma registrar and/or trauma coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing
- Minimum of 1 year Emergency RN experience or recent completion of emergency nursing training program.
- Current Washington Registered Nurse licensure or current multistate RN license
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC required within 6 months of hire.
- TNCC required within one year of hire.
- Must demonstrate independent management of cardiac, complex med/surg, pediatric, and trauma patients.
- Knowledge of age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
- Ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family‑centered work environment. (Required)
- Ability to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required)
- Basic computer skills. (Required)
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs without assistive equipment (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs force (e.g., medical carts). - Perform hands‑on CPR at least 20 mins using 100‑125 lbs of force; frequency seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/stooping/squatting/reaching/kneeling frequently.
- Lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs occasionally and 5 lbs frequently.
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
