CNA - Hospice House

Peace Health Hospice House in Longview, WA is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant
- Hospice for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Night position. The salary range is $23.03 – $34.59. The hiring rate depends on education, training, experience, collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc. Hiring bonus may be available.

• Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
• Perform basic technical skills such as CPR, taking and recording vital signs, measuring fluid input/output, applying dressings, recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions, and administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
• Assist patients with personal care: bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration.
• Help patients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
• Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
• Document relevant patient care data.
• Provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.

• Minimum of 1 year of experience (preferred: acute care facility).
• Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth, development, and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.

• Certified Nurse Assistant – Washington (required).
• Upon hire Basic Life Support (required).
• Food Handlers Permit (required).

• Courteous, caring, and understanding attitude toward patients, families, co‑workers, visitors, volunteers, peers, and physicians (required).
• Well organized, flexible, and able to function effectively and independently as assigned (required).
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment (required).
• Creative problem‑solving skills (required).
• Excellent communication skills (required).
• Basic computer, clerical, phone etiquette, and customer service skills (required).

Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment; fine motor skills for precise procedures; push/pull up to 45 lbs.; hands‑on CPR at least 20 minutes with 100‑125 lbs. force; ability to perform tasks in a noisy environment.

• Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
• Must complete tasks in a noisy environment.
• Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
• Ability to move around area with frequent sitting; bending/stooping/squatting/reaching/kneeling frequently; lifting non‑patient up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
