About Reentry CentersReentry Centers serve as a bridge between life in prison and life in the community. Incarcerated people at Reentry Centers focus on transition, including finding and retaining employment, education, treatment, reconnecting with family, and developing life skills. They learn and refine social and living skills to create a smoother transition from prison confinement and are given focused opportunities for success.
Salary Information- Corrections & Custody Officer 1 (DOC WFSE Range 45 Step J-M)
Full‑time: $5,209 – $5,610
On‑call/Hourly: $29.94 – $32.24 - Corrections & Custody Officer 2 (DOC WFSE Range 53 Step H-M)
Full‑time: $6,043 – $6,832
On‑call/Hourly: $34.73 – $39.26
- One year of experience as a Department of Corrections (DOC) Corrections and Custody Officer, including successful completion of the CORE (Academy) and the Correctional Officer Field Training Program.
- Or one year of experience as a Correctional Officer in adult or juvenile corrections with security functions equivalent to a DOC Corrections and Security Officer 2.
- Provide safety and security and assist in controlling, directing, and monitoring inmate movement.
- Help inmates become productive community members from day one.
- Use interpersonal and communication skills to correct and counteract criminal thinking while maintaining safe confinement environments.
- Support the institution’s security, including controlling movement into, out of, and within the institution in accordance with department procedures.
- Participate in required training, such as the Correctional Worker Core (CWC) and continued on‑the‑job training.
- Perform duties in a minimum‑security facility, assisting with health, safety, and programmatic needs.
- Up to 25 paid vacation days per year.
