Life Works is looking for a Community Inclusion Specialist to provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop, plan & participate in activities in the community. This position requires an individual to be enthusiastic and creative while supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in activities identified by program participants.

• Provide opportunities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop, plan, and participate in community activities.
• Build relationships with clients while maintaining boundaries.
• Work with and communicate with a diverse population.
• Research local, free or low‑cost activities.
• Read and understand plans and protocols for individual participants.
• Support participants with signing up for activities.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must complete and pass a department background check to include FBI fingerprint check.
• Must be able to squat, stoop/bend, kneel, climb stairs, lift at least 50 pounds (or ¼ own body weight), push and pull against potential resistance; implement non‑physical and physical interventions and CPR with people supported when needed.
• Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen (does NOT include THC).
• Must put client needs as a number one priority.
• Dependable and have a strong work ethic.

• Employees working 30+ hours per week will be eligible to choose from two different medical plan options once they meet eligibility requirements (1st of the month following 60 days of employment).

Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM with some evenings/weekends due to client activities.
