As a Class A CDL Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of goods across various locations. You will operate a commercial vehicle while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. You will maintain accurate logs of your driving hours and vehicle inspections, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and represent the company with professionalism and courtesy.

• Possess a Class A CDL, preferably with a doubles endorsement.
• Previous experience driving 40-53ft trailers on highways, in city traffic, on county and gravel roads, day and night, and ability to maneuver and back up in tight quarters.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate straight, retail, and dump trucks.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate possum belly, walking floor, flatbed, and dry van trailers.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Ability to comply with all DOT, FMCSR, and company regulations, including passing drug and alcohol testing before hiring and at random times thereafter.
• Must have a 3‑year, accident‑free DMV record.
• Ability to learn the products offered and their uses.
• Available to work weekends on a rotating basis.

• Knowledge of the wood products industry.
• Customer‑service experience in a transportation or logistics environment.

• Load wood products efficiently.
• Deliver various wood products to customers promptly.
• Independently read, write, and follow dispatcher instructions.
• Deliver excellent customer service while in contact with customers, vendors, and employees.
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and non‑driving time.
• Record amounts of material delivered, times, and other necessary information for paperwork.
• Strap down and/or tarp loads.
• Install traction devices (chains) during inclement weather.
• Sweep and/or squeegee trailer between loads to avoid contamination.
• Leave each truck and trailer cleaned and operable for future use.
• Use tools as necessary for safe delivery of materials.
• Drop and hook up different trailers as assigned.
• Operate different types of equipment in loading, delivering, and unloading, including front‑end loaders, possum belly, walking floor, flatbed, dry van, dump truck, and either standard or automatic transmissions.
• Unload overhead bunkers into trailers.
• Know and follow all DOT regulations.
• Perform pre‑trip inspections of the truck and engine.

The required skills for this position include strong driving abilities, a thorough understanding of safety regulations, attention to detail for inspections and logs, effective communication with dispatch and customers, problem‑solving for transportation issues, and familiarity with ELDs.
