Primary Function:

Under the supervision of the Club Director, the Project Learn tutors, plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates activities provided in the Project Learn lesson plan.

Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Program Planning

• Prepare youth for success by creating an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development outcomes which include:
• promote and stimulate program participation.
• monitor grades and skill level of members to show improvement
• provide guidance and role modeling to members.
• Develop, implement, and administer programs, services and activities for members.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure:
• safety of members
• quality in programs
• attractiveness of the Project Learn program

Administrative Functions

• Prepare weekly schedule of programs and monthly evaluation reports.
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly staff meetings.

Relationships

• Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

Additional Responsibilities

• May participate in special programs and/or events.

Skills/Knowledge

Required:

• BA in Education or related field
• Current FL Teacher Certification
• Experience working with children.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
• Ability to deal with the general public.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
• Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Valid State Driver's License
• Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test.
