** Salary/Pay Rate/Compensation: $19-$22/hr*
* ** Shift: 1st (Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:30pm)*

** What's a typical day as a Machinist? You'll be:*
* + Operating a variety of machining equipment such as drill presses, CNC machines, precision machines, and lathes to fabricate essential parts and tools.

+ Measuring dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments, templates, and fixtures.

+ Mounting, installing, aligning, and securing tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines.

+ Listening for machine operation issues and making adjustments as needed (e.g., changing dull tools, correcting excessive vibration).

+ Changing machine feed and speed, adjusting tools, or correcting programming errors.

+ Stopping machines to remove work pieces or change setups per job requirements.

+ Using bench skills for assembly, disassembly, and working with hand-held power tools.

+ Safely lifting work pieces to machines manually or with hoists/cranes.

+ Calculating machine speed and feed ratios, and determining the size and position for cuts.

+ Setting up and operating one or more of the following:
Vertical Turret Lathes, Horizontal Boring Mills, Vertical/Horizontal Grinders, Horizontal Engine Lathes.

+ Moving materials, tools, fixtures, and equipment as required.

+ Performing other duties as assigned.

** This job might be an outstanding fit if you:*
* + Have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution (required).

+ Have completed an apprenticeship and/or formal training in machining (preferred).

+ Bring at least 2 years of experience with manual machines.

+ Are skilled at reading blueprints, using measuring tools, and have a strong attention to detail.

+ Are proficient in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.

+ Possess basic computer skills and solid mathematical abilities, including basic shop math.

+ Demonstrate practical problem-solving abilities and can handle non-standardized situations.

+ Have experience with equipment/tool use, blueprint reading, and measuring tools.

+ Are committed to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

+ Are physically able to stand, walk, bend, squat, use hands and arms, communicate, and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
