Job Description

F. J. Nugent & Associates Inc. is seeking a Sales Account Manager to cover the Tampa Bay territory. The role will manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long‑term success by generating new sales with existing and new accounts. The candidate will serve as the intermediary between municipal customers, outside engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and Nugent personnel, communicating customer needs to the management team while ensuring timely, positive responses that build strong relationships.

Position

Responsibilities
  • Manage the Tampa Bay municipal accounts for long‑term success.
  • Present technical equipment proposals and quotations for bid projects and customer inquiries.
  • Develop positive relationships with customers.
  • Manage pump and equipment order process from initial inquiry to startup.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts and providing timely solutions to customers.
  • Report to Nugent management on account status and potential projects.
  • Track sales and monitor against Nugent projections.
Minimum Education Requirements
  • Bachelor of Mechanical or Electro/Mechanical Engineering and/or
  • Technical sales experience of 5 years.
Desired Skills
  • Proven sales/marketing/applications experience preferred.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of centrifugal pumps preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls/VFDs and their application preferred.
  • Strong sense of urgency and care in responding to customer requests, inquiries, and problems.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proficiency with desktop applications (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.).
  • Accountable, self‑motivated, and proactive.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong technical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.
  • Business and growth orientation.
  • Some experience in technical product sales or business.
