National Accounts Sales Representative

Location:

Longwood, FL (also opportunities in Michigan). GLE Scrap Metal is seeking an experienced National Accounts / Industrial Metal Recycling Sales Representative to establish new scrap supplier relationships, retain existing customers, coordinate sales activities, and purchase materials for our locations.

Overview

This role requires a minimum of five years of scrap metal industry experience, preferably with a focus on non-ferrous metals. The candidate must be driven, organized, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a plan for purchasing ferrous and non-ferrous recyclables from industrial accounts nationwide.
  • Arrange material shipments directly to GLE facilities, partners, or consumers; experience with trading and logistics is necessary.
  • Understand all commodities and how market dynamics affect values.
  • Communicate with customers — call, visit, and email as needed to understand their needs and identify opportunities.
  • Strategically target growth opportunities.
  • Create, submit, and negotiate bids and contracts.
  • Establish and build relationships with new and existing customers.
Experience & Skills
  • Five years of scrap metal buying, selling, trading, or operations experience.
  • National account experience required.
  • Strong initiative and drive to pursue customers and build a book of business.
  • Must be independent.
  • Proficiency in software management, CRM, Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Scheduling and planning abilities.
  • Time management.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Compensation
  • Salary plus bonus/commission; salary commensurate with experience and impact.
