Business Development, Sales Manager
Seeking a Business Development Manager to support expansion of the FL Operation. The Business Development Manager – Electrical Power Construction is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating strong industry relationships, and supporting the pursuit and capture of electrical infrastructure projects. This individual will work closely with internal teams to develop winning proposals and deliver strategic insights into market trends, customer needs, and competitor positioning.
DailyResponsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the electrical power construction sector.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with utilities, electrical membership cooperative (EMC) firms, Data Center Developers, etc.
- Lead the preparation of proposals, RFPs, and presentations for new project opportunities.
- Collaborate with estimating, operations, and engineering teams to support pre‑construction efforts.
- Attend client meetings, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company.
- Track market developments and competitor activity to refine pursuit strategies.
- Maintain CRM systems and provide regular reports on sales pipeline and performance.
- Drive contract negotiations and ensure a smooth handoff to the Construction teams.
- Develop and execute account and territory plans to meet revenue and margin targets.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales or client management within the electrical construction utility sector with specific experience in client growth into large power companies (ex. Florida Power & Light, Duke Energy, etc.).
- Demonstrated strong understanding of electrical infrastructure projects (transmission, distribution, substations, etc.).
- Proven ability to generate leads and close business in a technical sales environment.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel as needed.
- Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal development tools.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field or relevant experience preferred.
Permanent position based out of Longwood, FL. Hybrid arrangement.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $ – $ per year. Medical and dental insurance, 401K.
