Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a growing entertainment and recreation organization. This contract opportunity is ideal for a finance specialist who can manage day-to-day accounting activities while maintaining accurate records and supporting reliable financial reporting. The role will focus on core accounting operations across payables, receivables, reconciliations, and general ledger activity in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.

- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and payment coordination.

- Administer accounts receivable activities by tracking incoming payments and following up on outstanding balances.

- Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate general ledger records and support month-end close activities.

- Perform bank and account reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.

- Support the preparation of financial reports by organizing data and maintaining complete accounting documentation.

- Review accounting records for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established financial procedures.

Requirements

- At least 5 years of accounting experience in a hands-on finance role.

- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.

- Experience preparing journal entries and completing bank reconciliations with a high level of accuracy.

- Ability to manage multiple accounting priorities while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

- Solid understanding of core accounting principles and standard financial controls.

- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in reviewing and reconciling financial data.

Must be willing open to drug and background screening to be considered for role.
