This position is for the full academic year, open only to enrolled upperclassmen. Freshmen are not eligible to apply for this position.
Expected hours of work per week: 10-15
Work Location &
Hours:
Mills Hall from 7 pm to 10 pm, Monday through Thursday.
- Students must have completed PHY 231 with a grade of B or above and must be approved by the instructor of that class. Students are expected to continue the calculus-based physics sequence, again maintaining a B in each class.
- Students must be able to interact with other students in a positive supporting manner.
- Students must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Workers are required to tutor students in both algebra and calculus-based physics classes and assist the faculty member in grading lab reports, as directed by the instructor.
- Other responsibilities would involve filing, setting up lab equipment, and monitoring students who are making up missed labs.
- Career & Self-Development including managing time and developing tutoring skills.
- Communication in the form of speaking to fellow students.
- Critical Thinking in the form of solving physics problems.
- Global Literacy is displayed by working with students from different countries.
- Leadership allows students to solve their own problems.
