Covenant College has a beautiful 400-acre campus that stretches atop Lookout Mountain, Georgia, on the Georgia/Tennessee border, just outside of Chattanooga. The Department of Music at Covenant College invites applications for an adjunct professor to teach one section of Music Theory 1 in the Spring 2027 semester. Covenant College is an academically rigorous Christian college emphasizing the liberal arts in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Teach an undergraduate course in music theory in the context of a Christian perspective
- Plan lessons and assignments, grade assignments, respond to student inquiries, and submit grades
- An appreciation and understanding of the mission of Covenant College
- M.A. or higher in Music from an accredited institution
- Expertise in the subject area
- Teaching experience preferred
- Curriculum Vitae.
- A brief Philosophy of Christian Higher Education.
- A brief Testimony of Christian Faith and Experience.
- A brief Response to The Westminster Confession, indicating agreement and any scruples, with rationales.
