* JOB REQUIREMENTS:
**** Prerequisites
* * for this position:
* High school diploma or GED.
* Valid Driver's License and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) along with proof of insurance when using personal or facility-owned vehicle.
* Previous experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility.
* Must be at least 21 years of age.
* Must be out of recovery for at least 2 years with no relapses.
* Complete CPR certification and Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
* Complete additional age-related training, as required, within 30 days of employment.
* Where applicable, must obtain and maintain agency affiliation.
** Preferred experience or credentials:
** Competitive candidates will have:
* Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Recreational Therapy, or other appropriate therapeutic field.
* Direct experience working with dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
* Availability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours as needed.

* JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
*** Observe and maintain a safe, therapeutic patient milieu through patient checks, safety monitoring, etc.
* Perform tasks delegated by the RN related to the care of the patients including, but not limited to, vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring.
* Report all changes, medical or psychiatric, to RN.
* Assist patients to attend scheduled activities and required groups.
* Accompany patients to off-unit activities.
* Promote positive patient experiences; build a positive, healthy relationship with patients.
* Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patients.
* Provide appropriate help during emergency situations.
* Encourage or assist patients to perform activities of daily living.
* Facilitate patient's rules and responsibilities.
