Manufacturing Engineer – Lorain, Ohio

A leading automotive supplier near Lorain, Ohio needs a Manufacturing Engineer. Previous manufacturing engineering experience in an automotive manufacturing plant is required, with metal stamping and welding expertise. This is a full‑time, permanent, direct‑hire position offering competitive compensation, bonus potential, good benefits, paid holidays, and paid vacation.
Responsibilities- Conduct time and method studies to establish time standards for manufacturing operations.
- Provide industrial engineering support to all manufacturing operations through lean manufacturing/Kaizen principles.
- Recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods, and controls.
- Coordinate manufacturing launch for new and revised products.
- Develop plant layouts, work instructions, process flow layouts, and set‑up procedures while adhering to safety, quality, and productivity procedures and policies.
- Handle automation with robotic materials and parts.
- Develop and manage process FMEAs and other process documentation.
- Troubleshoot processes and equipment.
- Develop, monitor, and report production measurables and productivity incentive plans.
- Refurbish and repurpose equipment.
- Support and troubleshoot 8D problem‑resolution methods.
- Ensure compliance with IATF
16949 documentation requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 3 to 5 years of work experience in an automotive manufacturing facility.
- Technical capacity.
- Thoroughness.
- Computer proficiency (MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Advanced knowledge of safety requirements.
- Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- AutoCAD experience, blueprint reading, and GD&T.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma concepts.
- ERP experience and thorough understanding of setting up processes and BOMs.
- Familiarity with automotive specifications.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel, including customers and suppliers.
