Location: Lorain, OH
Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time
Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Position Summary

PTS Advance is hiring a Material Handler to support warehouse and manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for receiving, moving, storing, and preparing materials for production while maintaining inventory accuracy and following all safety procedures. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow with a company through a contract-to-hire position.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and organize incoming materials and inventory.
  • Pick, pack, and stage materials for production and customer shipments.
  • Transport materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with identifying shortages or discrepancies.
  • Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts, stand-up lifts, order pickers, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools as needed, including utility knives, drills, tape machines, nailers, saws, and measuring tools.
  • Load and unload trucks while following established safety procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards.
  • Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 pounds on a repetitive basis.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify parts, inventory issues, and material shortages.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and documentation.
  • Willingness to work overtime or flexible hours as needed.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
