Job Details- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry (Night Shift)

- Location: Lorain, OH 44053 (just west of Cleveland; Northeast Ohio travel nursing)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (February 23, 2026 – May 25, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $1800 - $1890
- Unit: Med/Surg Telemetry – 29 beds
- Patient Ratios: 1:5–6 (acuity dependent)
- Patient Population: Orthopedics, Neurology, Telemetry (adult/geriatric)
- Lines/Drains/Devices: Wound vacs, PICC lines, central lines
- Airway Support: BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow, nasal cannulas
- Drips: Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin (typically non-titratable)
- Ancillary Staff: 1–2 support staff per shift; phlebotomy available
- Scheduling: Every other weekend and holiday
- Scrubs: Navy blue
- Note: Local candidates not accepted for this travel position
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required (telemetry nurse, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition)
- Licensure: Current RN license in Ohio or compact state eligibility (Ohio travel nursing jobs)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale required
- Clinical Skills: Dysrhythmia exam required (study guide provided); experience with insulin gtts and vasoactive drips
- Documentation: Experience with EPIC or similar EHR preferred (electronic charting, clinical documentation)
- Travel Experience: Not required; travel nurse and med-surg travel RN candidates encouraged to apply
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for med-surg and telemetry patients
- Administer medications safely; manage Cardizem, Heparin, and Insulin drips per protocol
- Provide high-quality bedside care for orthopedic, neurologic, and telemetry patient populations
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and read/verify telemetry strips once per shift in EPIC; recognize and escalate dysrhythmias and arrhythmias
- Manage wounds, drains, PICC lines, and central lines with sterile technique and appropriate documentation
- Support respiratory modalities including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nasal cannula
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, ancillary staff, and phlebotomy for coordinated patient-centered care
- Participate in unit quality improvement, patient safety initiatives, and patient/family education
- Advocate for patient needs and communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and care teams
