Description
Naturalist Aides assist in educating the public and conducting programs, including children's nature camps, field trip programs, nature walks, special events, and front desk duties. They also assist with the care of animal ambassadors, including feeding and cleaning the enclosures of reptiles, amphibians, and fish. Naturalist aides must work effectively in a team environment with park staff and volunteers, positively represent the park district, and communicate clearly with park visitors and program participants.
Location: Variable. Naturalist Aides will be based out of the French Creek Nature Center but will be assigned to various parks throughout the Lorain County Metro Park District for summer camps and events.
Rate of Pay: $12.50 - $15.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.

RequirementsCompletion of secondary education (high school diploma or GED). Two years of college in the field of natural resources, education, environmental science or a related field is preferred.
Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and complete a background check. Lorain County Metropolitan Park District policy prohibits hiring new employees who are tobacco users.
