Job DescriptionThis Administrative Assistant / Receptionist role provides front desk and general office support by managing incoming calls and emails, organizing documents, and assisting with day-to‑day administrative tasks. The position ensures smooth office operations by maintaining accurate records, supporting the team with data entry and basic reporting, and delivering professional customer service to internal and external contacts.
Responsibilities- Answer and route incoming phone calls in a professional and timely manner.
- Monitor and respond to emails promptly, ensuring clear and courteous communication.
- Organize, scan, and file documents both electronically and physically to maintain an orderly filing system.
- Maintain accurate records and update files regularly to ensure information is current and accessible.
- Provide general administrative support to the team, including scheduling, correspondence, and other office tasks as needed.
- Assist with data entry and basic reporting tasks to support business operations.
- Ensure the office environment remains organized, tidy, and efficient to support daily activities.
- 1+ year of administrative, customer service, or office support experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word.
- Ability to manage and maintain filing systems and organize documents effectively.
- Demonstrated customer service mindset with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a busy office environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience providing administrative support in an office or reception setting.
- Familiarity with electronic and physical document management processes.
- Comfort working with basic reporting tools and office software.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and support multiple stakeholders.
- Professional telephone etiquette and email communication style.
This is an on‑site position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The role is based in a traditional office environment where you will work at a front desk or reception area, using computers and standard office equipment throughout the day. You will regularly use Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word, as well as electronic filing systems.
The setting is organized and professional, with a focus on maintaining an efficient and welcoming office atmosphere for visitors and team members.
This is a Contract position based out of Lorton, VA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 – $20.00/hr.
