Fire Alarm Designer
Location: Lorton, VA
Loyal Source is seeking a talented and detail‑oriented Fire Alarm Designer to join our team in Lorton, VA. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys design work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is ready to contribute to high‑quality fire alarm system layouts and documentation.
Position OverviewIn this role, you will be responsible for creating new fire alarm system designs, updating existing drawings, and completing redlines. Approximately 90% of the work will be performed in the office, with occasional travel to job sites for field verification or project support.
We’re looking for someone who is proficient in AutoCAD and FireCAD, with strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of fire alarm design principles. Experience with Notifier systems is preferred, but training can be provided for candidates who are strong in design fundamentals.
Responsibilities- Develop new fire alarm system designs and layout drawings
- Update and revise existing drawings based on redlines or project changes
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field technicians
- Conduct occasional site visits for measurements, verification, or design support
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
- Maintain accurate documentation and organized project files
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and FireCAD
- Experience in fire alarm system design
- Familiarity with Notifier systems preferred (training available for strong designers)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret construction documents
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
