Job Summary
Job Summary: We are seeking a Christ-centered DYFM who will lead, develop, and guide the Pohick Church youth program (grades 5-12). The DYFM will aid in planning and implementing Sunday formation classes, nursery care, midweek youth gatherings, and seasonal events (e.g. Vacation Bible School, Christmas Pageant). The DYFM will strive to encourage children, teens, and their families to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and will serve as a faithful example of godly Christian living.
Responsibilities- Develop, update, and/or review curriculum used for Sunday School and Youth programs offered to children and youth.
- Develop and support Sunday morning Christian education programs for children and youth.
- Staff and oversee the Christian Education office during Sunday School hours. Provide support and direction to teachers, establish connection with children, youth and families.
- Recruit teachers and leaders for Sunday School, Children’s Church, and youth programs. Provide training and support as needed.
- Develop and implement children and youth programs for seasonal events such as Vacation Bible School, Christmas Pageant, Lenten Suppers and Parish retreat. Recruit and guide volunteers as needed.
- Plan, oversee, grow, and coordinate weekly Sunday evening youth ministry program (EYC) to include games, prayer, bible study, and music.
- Plan youth events such as retreats, mission trips, beach days, ski trips, etc.
- Incorporate youth into various church ministries. Develop positive relationships with young people and their parents.
- Share program plans through social media, e-news and other available forms of communication.
The DYFM will be required to plan and participate in games and activities, to climb multiple flights of steps; and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkFull Time- 35-40 hours per week
Position QualificationsExperience in youth and/or children’s ministry preferred.
