Position Overview

This company is seeking a Principal Contracts Administrator to join its growing Corporate Contracts and Subcontracts team. This individual will serve as a trusted business advisor to program and business-unit leadership, providing comprehensive contract administration and negotiation support for complex federal government programs.

Working within an Integrated Product Team environment, the Principal Contracts Administrator will advise program leadership on contractual matters and serve as the primary contractual point of contact with government customers and prime contractors. The ideal candidate has extensive experience administering federal prime contracts and major U.S. government subcontracts, particularly services contracts, and possesses strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and federal acquisition requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contractual point of contact for government customers, prime contractors, program leadership, and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide cradle-to-grave administration of complex federal prime contracts and major government subcontracts.
  • Serve as a strategic business advisor to Program Management regarding contract interpretation, negotiation, administration, performance, and compliance.
  • Attend and support weekly business-unit and division-level coordination, planning, and program-review meetings.
  • Review contracts, solicitations, proposals, modifications, and related documents to ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, government regulations, and applicable master agreements.
  • Review, draft, redline, and negotiate nondisclosure agreements, teaming agreements, contract modifications, and other contractual instruments.
  • Lead or support customer-facing discussions and negotiations involving complex contractual and business matters.
  • Advise internal stakeholders and management regarding contractual rights, obligations, risks, and the interpretation of terms and conditions.
  • Develop negotiation strategies and recommend creative, business-focused solutions to complex contractual issues.
  • Support contract execution by anticipating and resolving problems and facilitating communication and cooperation among functional teams.
  • Identify contractual, financial, performance, and compliance risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Support the preparation, review, and approval of cost proposals, proposal narratives, contract changes, and supporting documentation.
  • Provide contract administration and negotiation support for complex bids, teaming arrangements, and new-business opportunities.
  • Ensure contract responsibilities are implemented in accordance with corporate policies, legal requirements, customer objectives, and applicable federal regulations.
  • Review and resolve issues affecting contract performance, including matters involving government customers, and prime contractors.
  • Present contractual options, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership in support of new and existing business.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, agency-specific regulations, and standard commercial contracting practices.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and complete contract files and documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Finance, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Seven to ten years of progressively responsible federal contract-management experience involving government prime contracts and major U.S. government subcontracts.
  • Significant experience administering services contracts as a Contracts Administrator or Contracts Manager.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph

  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, and applicable agency regulations

  • Experience managing multiple contract types, including Firm-Fixed-Price, Time-and-Materials, and Cost-Reimbursement contracts
    .
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating terms and conditions for services, materials, and other contractual requirements.
  • Experience supporting contract proposals, modifications, negotiations, and new-business activities.
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual language and advise leadership regarding rights, obligations, risks, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve highly complex contractual issues and develop effective negotiation and risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Strong business judgment, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively influence and communicate with government customers, prime contractors, internal business partners, and senior leadership.
