Payroll and Human Resources Representative

Job Description

Award-winning and fast-paced relocation company headquartered in Lorton, VA seeks conscientious Payroll/Human Resources Representative to process payroll and perform general HR functions for our growing organization. This is a predominantly entry level payroll-related position located in Lorton, VA that is ideally suited for the candidate who wishes to first master the Payroll and Human Resources Representative role before further advancing his/her career within our company.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Collects time records submitted via various means and accurately enters the data into the payroll processing system within established deadlines
• Calculates payroll adjustments, processes bi-weekly payrolls, and maintains various payroll records for reporting and compliance purposes
• Runs criminal backgrounds and motor vehicle reports to determine employment eligibility
• Produces and audits employment files to ensure completeness and compliance
• Researches and responds to employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other personnel inquiries
• Develops and enforces company standards and procedures
• Exercises a high degree of confidentiality while maintaining various employment records and other sensitive information for the company

Requirements:

• 6+ months of exposure to payroll entry, calculation and submissions
• Knowledge of FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and other state & federal regulations
• Experience with Quick Books Pro & Paychex preferred but not required
• Must possess a keen attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, incredible strong problem solving abilities and investigative skills
• Able to work quickly without sacrificing work quality and maintain excellent time management skills necessary to meet established deadlines
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
