Integration Engineer

Position Overview

Leidos's Digital Sector has an opening for an Integration Engineer in Lorton, VA. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a continuing requirement for Homeland Enterprise IT Secure Services and Support (HEITS) to maintain and evolve the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN). The candidate will perform as an Integration Engineer for the Deployment team.

• Support the HEITS management team by providing services for design of new sites, IT renovations, cabling, server room space, desktop PC deployments, printers, faxes, phones, copiers, data storage, shared drives, and general‑purpose applications on HSDN and C‑LAN.
• Travel to sites nationwide to install and troubleshoot hardware/software (routers, switches, workstations, printers, UPS units, etc.).
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper cabling (CAT 5e and CAT 6) and fiber cabling.
• Program and configure devices such as Cisco and Juniper routers & switches, Dell workstations (thick/thin clients), and other equipment to be deployed at sites.
• Conduct site surveys as necessary and document them in a Site Deployment Package.
• Draft clear and detailed documentation describing the facility and network installation plan (including room diagrams, floor plans, physical security info, facility power info, network info, and other site‑related data).
• Execute the activities described in Site Deployment Packages upon Government approval.
• Ensure work on all approved MAC and new site requests complies with DHS network and enterprise architecture, DHS policy and guidance documents, and all security requirements.
• When appropriate, decommission system equipment for DHS sites that directly support the HEITS program.
• Provide Tier 3 customer support on deployed equipment.

• Active Top Secret government security clearance.
• BS degree with 4 years of relevant experience or MS with 2 years; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience with desktop support, network support, cabling, and wiring.
• Experience in network management and LAN design and implementation.
• Knowledge of handling classified materials and information.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and demanding environment.
• Ability to brief staff members to contribute solutions to decisions.
• Team‑player with the ability to provide recommendations and build customer relationships.
• Ability to work independently with minimal or no oversight.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer‑relationship management skills.

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Active DHS Entry on Duty (EOD) clearance.
• Prior DHS experience.
