The Manager, Facility Services is responsible for overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, HVAC, and building systems and equipment. This job manages a team of skilled trades professionals, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with safety standards while coordinating maintenance activities for industrial electrical, HVAC, and building systems for a large public utility.
Responsibilities- Oversees daily operations of the general repair and maintenance trades team to ensure efficient service delivery and adherence to safety standards.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and achieve both short and long-term organizational goals.
- Manages budgets and resources for repair and maintenance projects, ensuring long-term cost‑effective solutions and timely completion.
- Assists in studies, plans, designs, construction commissioning, and operations involving electrical and HVAC disciplines by other Divisions and Departments as needed.
- Reviews electrical system protection systems components to ensure compliance with best industry practices and standards.
- Coordinates with cross‑functional teams to address complex maintenance issues and facilitate effective communication across departments.
- Analyzes maintenance data and trends to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Serves as a point of contact for stakeholders regarding maintenance policies, practices, and procedures; influencing decisions that impact overall operations.
- A bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
- Knowledge of industrial power systems.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and other desktop applications as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of asset management practices.
- Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare reports from such data.
- Ability to compose and edit various types of business correspondence.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies on a twenty‑four (24) hour per day schedule.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to communicate information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co‑workers and the public.
- Must pass a controlled substance (drug) test for employment.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to pass a background investigation.
