Job Summary
Receives, rotates, cuts, wraps, and merchandises fresh and processed meats, including grinds. Assists in merchandising seafood, prepared foods, cheeses, and pre‑packed deli items, and supports the rotisserie chicken and full‑service deli area. Helps with meat selection and prepares special cuts as requested by members. Maintains sanitation and safety standards in the meat department.

- Engage with members, offer recommendations, and answer questions about meat, poultry, and seafood.
- Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by members.
- Cut, grind, and/or process fresh meats to company cutting standards.
- Weigh, package, wrap, and label cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
- Ensure the meat case showcases all currently available products.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in the meat department.
- Keep meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheese cases fully stocked.
- Rotate meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
- Dispose of damaged and/or expired products following established guidelines.
- Clean and sanitize all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department, including coolers, freezers, and refrigerated display cases.
- Inspect and store meat upon delivery to ensure it meets or exceeds company quality standards.
- Receive and unpack meat, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses in the meat cooler and freezer.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including placing orders and assisting in other departments as needed.
- Demonstrate regular, predictable, full attendance as an essential function of the job.
- Completion of a training program or apprenticeship (required).
- Previous meat‑cutting experience (required).
- Knowledge of automatic or hand wrapping machines (preferred).
- Minimum age 18 years.
Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces. Employees may need to bend, handle, pull, reach, and/or stoop to examine or scan merchandise. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds, with occasional need to lift heavier objects with assistance. The position is located in a cooler area with exposure to temperature extremes and loud noises, and may involve occasional exposure to cleaning agents.
PayTransparency
In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the starting pay range for this position is $19.75 per hour. Actual salaries may vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
