Maintenance Technician

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations and upkeep of the Lorton Complex. This role is responsible for coordinating service vendors, conducting facility inspections, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring building systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, proactive, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining strong communication with internal stakeholders and external partners.

• Manage and coordinate outside service vendors including Janitorial, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Physical Security, and Utilities providers
• Conduct routine and scheduled physical inspections of facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs
• Develop corrective action plans and track issues through resolution
• Produce project status updates and communicate deliverables to senior leadership
• Perform routine building maintenance including minor painting, carpentry repairs, basic electrical troubleshooting, plumbing maintenance, and HVAC system support and preventative maintenance
• Assist in small facility improvement projects and support larger renovation efforts as needed
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
• Respond to facility‑related service requests in a timely and professional manner

• 5+ years of experience in commercial facility maintenance or related field
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
• Ability to remain agile and effective under pressure
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Sound business judgment and decision‑making ability
• Experience coordinating multiple vendors and tracking service performance

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.

• TS/SCI or the ability to obtain one
