About This Role

The HVAC Lead Install Technician is responsible for overseeing the installation, upgrade, and replacement of HVAC systems in residential properties. This role involves leading a team of technicians to ensure high-quality and efficient service delivery. The Lead Install Technician handles complex installations, provides technical expertise, and ensures compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. They are also responsible for customer interactions, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Additionally, the Lead Install Technician maintains a clean and organized work environment, manages inventory and tools, and contributes to team training and development.

What You’ll Do

• Installing, upgrading, and/or replacing HVAC systems in residential homes with precision.

• Cutting, threading, and connecting pipes (copper or PVC) and handling high- and low-voltage wiring.

• Training and mentoring Install Helpers on job sites and in the shop to enhance their skills and knowledge.

• Delivering exceptional customer service and communicating effectively with homeowners.

• Performing physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and moving objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

• Maintaining tools, parts, and company vehicles in a clean and organized condition.

• Working safely at heights, in confined spaces (such as attics), and under various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and company service standards.

• Performing additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 1+ year of HVAC experience, preferably in the residential market, demonstrating hands-on technical skills.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• EPA Certification required.

• Advanced troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills to resolve complex HVAC issues.

• Proactive and enthusiastic approach with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work.

• Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively address client needs and concerns.

• Ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels of the organization.

• Flexible and innovative team player who thrives in dynamic environments and collaborates effectively with others.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.

• Climb ladders, access attics, navigate tight spaces, drive vehicles, enter crawlspaces, push, carry, pull, use hand tools, and perform detailed manual work.

• Ability to drive.

• Work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings, attics, and crawlspaces.

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit; communicate effectively in person and by telephone.

• Use hands to handle, feel, or operate objects and controls; reach with hands and arms.

• Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.

• Work in environments with regular exposure to extreme indoor and outdoor temperatures, as well as adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, ice, and snow.
