Lead Diesel Mechanic - Fleet Technician - Ready-Mix

• Promote Safety:
  Prioritize safety for yourself and others in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards, and follow all safety, lock out lock out tag out, and environmental rules and procedures.
• Repair and Maintain Mobile Equipment:
  Service, repair, adjust, maintain, and test Concrete Ready Mix Trucks and support equipment; perform routine preventive maintenance, lubricate, make adjustments, conduct failure analysis, and correct repairs; repair hydraulic hoses, lighting, brakes, suspension, and AC work; keep a clean and well‑organized work area.
• Inspect Equipment and Material:
  Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot causes of errors, diagnose defects, and perform necessary repairs.
• Create Work Orders:
  Document all repairs and services with accurate, legible information.
• Communicate:
  Coordinate with personnel to ensure proper, safe, and preventive vehicle maintenance.
• Use Equipment:
  Operate various tools, such as cutting torch, air and hand tools, jacks, grinders, and drill press.
• Perform General Physical
  
  Activities:
  
  Move the whole body and use arms and legs for climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
• Additional Responsibilities:
  Perform other duties as assigned.

• Experience:
  
  Previous experience in the mechanical field is required.
• Certifications:
  
  MED HVY Truck ASE Certification is preferred.
• Communication
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to read memos, follow instructions, and communicate verbally with colleagues to solve problems.
• Basic Math
  
  Skills:
  
  Ability to add, subtract, and use basic units of measurement.
• Flexibility:
  Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as required by customer and company demands; ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noise.

Hourly rate: $27.93 – $48.46 (not inclusive of discretionary bonus or equity). Compensation is based on skill set, experience, job scope, and market data.
