Fleet Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs on all types of trucks and equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Inspect trucks for DOT infractions and repair as required.
• Provide preventative maintenance, repairs, and federal inspections of fleet trucks.
• Make service calls in a timely manner as needed.
• Complete work assignments and provide feedback to Lead/Shop Foreman regarding work issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of light/medium duty truck repair experience.
• 21 years of age or older.
• Pass DOT Physical and DOT Road Test.
• Successful acquisition of a Chauffeur License (if location is in IN, MI, or TN).
• Ability to lift, push/pull, stack/unstack, or carry up to 50 lbs, and stand or stoop for prolonged periods.
• Ability to work 8+ hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Consistent with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations, ability to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public and understand highway traffic signs and signals, and to respond to official inquiries and make entries on reports and records.
