Required Skills & Experience Education & Experience
-Associate degree from an accredited two-year college or technical institution, or equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience
-0-2 years of experience with GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
-0-2 years of experience supporting special process administration.
-Experience with Microsoft word, excel, Powerpoint - someone who is computer savvy, ERP system, can turn it on, work on spreadsheet and populate it
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-Ability to interpret engineering drawings and extract welding requirements from technical documentation.
-Ability to read and understand weld symbols.
-Working knowledge of GTAW, EBW, PAW, and resistance welding processes.
-Familiarity with applicable technical standards, engineering principles, concepts, and manufacturing practices.
-Ability to manage and prioritize multiple assignments and projects effectively.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-Experience using database applications and supporting the programming of automated welding equipment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience-welding experience
-Robotics; basic programming on robots, work on cobots
-AA degree, 4 year degree, someone that went through schooling/welding school and AA
-NADCAP certification understanding and quality side of welding
Job Description Seeking a Welding Engineer to support manufacturing operations and related functional teams in the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of fusion and resistance welding processes. This individual will assist with tooling evaluations and manufacturing planning, including support during proposal and estimating activities, while ensuring compliance with applicable welding standards, certifications, and special process requirements.
Key Responsibilities
-Serve as the primary technical resource for welding-related manufacturing issues and process support.
-Develop, document, and implement welding procedures, process instructions, and work standards.
-Recommend, source, and coordinate acquisition of welding equipment, tooling, and consumables.
-Maintain welder qualification records and certification status.
-Administer welder qualification testing and related documentation.
-Manage welding schedules, procedure specifications, and process records.
-Configure and support weld controller programming and operation.
-Assist in the development and implementation of automated fusion welding technologies.
-Contribute to manufacturing planning and quoting efforts by helping establish efficient, cost-effective fabrication methods and tooling solutions that satisfy engineering, quality, and customer requirements.
-Participate in new product introduction activities, process development efforts, and design reviews. Provide guidance on weld joint design, welding methods, materials, and equipment to support successful production implementation. Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Kaizen, and related operational excellence programs.
-Perform additional duties as assigned.
