We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector to join a leading Company located in the Los Alamitos, CA surrounding area.

Salary: 1st shift: $47,840 - $52,000; 2nd shift: $49,400 - $53,560

Responsibilities
  • Determine the most practical inspection method and technique; plan the sequence of operation; select precision measuring instruments and equipment to dimensionally inspect units.
  • Perform surface table inspections using standard positioning, measuring, and layout instruments and equipment.
  • Use shop mathematics, decimals, and fractions in the performance of the work.
  • Conduct first article, receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection assignments; visually and dimensionally inspect a wide variety of airframe parts and aerospace assemblies/components.
  • Witness the first piece part production and certify acceptability; observe and perform in-process inspection during component build-up and sub‑assembly stages; perform final assembly inspection and observe testing operations to assure quality, workmanship, and strict compliance with company, military space, and commercial specifications and standards.
  • Inspect incoming metallic and fiber materials, plastic and rubber compounds for correct formulation call‑out, serialization, identification, cure date, and shelf life; verify vendor and material certifications; check heat codes, batch, and lot numbers to assure product tractability; certify the proper mixing and blending of bonding agents and adhesives.
  • Inspect reinforced plastic and rubber products for delamination, blisters, porosity, bond, elasticity, gauge surface smoothness, and similar defects or characteristics.
  • Check configuration and part dimensions with or without the aid of assembly check gauges, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Prepare shipping data package for non‑metal (soft goods) components/assemblies in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Monitor oven and cure processes and record temperature readings and dwell time; perform or observe pressurization and leak test using plant air, nitrogen, and helium.
  • Prepare rework tags, inspection reports, and documentation.
  • Coordinate rejection with MRB, engineering, and customer representatives for depictions and process refinement.
  • Assemble end‑item documentation for review and acceptance of finished products.
  • Prepare and maintain history files, records, and reports.
Basic Hiring Criteria
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • AA or trade school degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of related Quality Assurance inspection experience, including interface with customer source representatives, government sources, internal departments, and senior management.
  • US Citizenship or permanent residency.
Desired Qualifications
  • ASQ Certified Quality Inspector preferred.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 production environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and analyze engineering drawings and blueprints to determine requirements.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic inspection tools: calipers, scales, height gauges, optical aids, micrometers, and GD&T.
  • Experience with production processes such as assembly, forming, tooling, welding (fusion & resistance), heat treating, and cleaning.
  • Experience with production machinery and equipment such as press forming, tube bending, and other fabrication.
  • Knowledge of metallic materials such as stainless steel, nickel, titanium, and aluminum.
  • Experience with composite materials and production processes such as elastomers, resins, and composite reinforcement material.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 standards and software, and military specifications.
  • Experience using Net‑Inspect standards and software preferred.
  • Ability to direct the work activities of QC Inspectors I.
Additional Expectations
