• Pay increases:
  The first pay increase for regular employees occurs after 6 months if the employee passes the probationary period. Pay increases occur annually thereafter, until top step is reached.

Under the direction of a Transportation Supervisor, to drive any conventional, transit-type, smaller school bus, or any district vehicle to transport pupils in accordance with the requirements of school transportation schedules and traffic laws; and to perform a variety of other duties as assigned. • Education & Experience Graduation from high school and a safe driving record.
• Valid California Special Driver Certificate for School Bus (DL-45)
• Valid California Class A or B driver license with passenger endorsement
• Valid medical card (DL-51)
• Valid Red Cross First Aid Card - only required if there is a restriction #6 on the Special Driver Certificate
• K-4 printout (current - within 30 days)
• Copy of T01 and T02 (Training Documents)

Examination:

Applications may be screened to select the most qualified candidates. The examination will consist of:

• A
  - Written job knowledge test (30% of Total Score)
• B
  - Structured oral interview (70% of Total Score)
• C
  - Practical Bus Inspection and Bus Operation (Pass/Fail)

Some classifications require you to pass a physical examination and/or a practical examination. This examination is at the district's expense and the appointment is not assured until you have passed this examination. Applicants must attain a passing score of 70% on each part of the examination in order to be placed on the eligibility list. Should a large number of candidates pass the written exam, a higher passing score than 70% may be required to progress.

Candidates who pass the written and panel interview will be placed on an eligibility list valid for six (6) months.
