We are an executive search agency recruiting on behalf of a growing outdoor recreation retailer seeking a Procurement and Vendor Manager. The company supplies premium hiking, camping, travel, and technical outdoor products through physical retail locations and direct-to-consumer channels.
This role will manage supplier relationships, purchasing strategy, product availability, and commercial terms. The successful candidate will balance customer demand with inventory requirements while developing productive vendor partnerships.
Key Responsibilities- Manage purchasing across assigned product categories.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery arrangements with vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and product availability.
- Coordinate purchasing plans with inventory and operations teams.
- Review demand trends and adjust purchasing strategies.
- Identify new suppliers and product opportunities.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and vendor documentation.
- 4+ years of procurement, buying, or vendor management experience.
- Experience with in retail, sporting goods, consumer products, or distribution preferred.
- Strong negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Experience with purchasing or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.

Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 per year
