Position Summary
UNM‑Los Alamos anticipates hiring Temporary Part‑Time faculty to teach online and/or face‑to‑face Computer Science courses at the 1000 or 2000 level. This is a continuous recruitment beginning in the Summer 2026 semester. Positions are contingent upon the need of each semester as determined by student enrollment levels and current course offering. Applicants hired from this requisition will be considered for the next requisition.
Anticipated openings include Computer Programming (Java, Matlab,
C), Discrete Mathematics, and Social and Ethical Issues in Computing.
UNM‑Los Alamos is seeking qualified temporary part‑time faculty members to teach lower division classes in various disciplines. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching, including meeting with the class during assigned times, content delivery, assignment development, grading, reporting of grades, and assessment of student learning as outlined by the Program Coordinator. Classes may be offered online or in person, depending on circumstances.
Candidates will report to the Department Coordinator overseeing this curriculum area.
WagesAdjunct Faculty are compensated at the rate of $1,135.26 per credit hour.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful teaching experience in a post‑secondary institution.
- Demonstrated commitment to cultivating an understanding of the rich and varied cultures of New Mexico and to the university’s mission to serve local and global communities.
- Online teaching experience.
- Terminal degree in the discipline or subfield (Ph.D., MFA, etc.).
- New Mexico residence.
