Overview
Hukari Ascendent is a Women-Owned, Small Business specializing in comprehensive engineering and technical support services associated with commercial nuclear power and other Department of Energy (DOE) nuclear activities.
Duration: 1 year assignment
Position Summary:
This position supports the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Controls System at Los Alamos National Laboratory. The role involves cost estimating, analysis and control activities, as well as planning/scheduling functions. The successful candidate will supervise and provide technical direction for cost engineering and/or planning/scheduling activities, perform financial reporting, and provide innovative solutions to project controls challenges. This position requires working in TA-00 with a 9/80 work schedule.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Project Controls System
- Perform cost estimating, analysis, and control activities
- Supervise and provide technical direction for cost engineering and planning/scheduling activities
- Identify trends and prepare presentations for management attention
- Supervise schedule development, maintenance, and monitoring activities
- Prepare and review cost engineering and planning presentations
- Support project organizational and administrative activities
- Provide innovative solutions to complex cost engineering and schedule guidance
- Work on significant, unique, or complex issues requiring creative solutions
- May serve as Control Account Manager (CAM) with responsibility for project budgets and status reporting
- Bachelor degree and minimum of twelve (12) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning and scheduling functions
- Experience with cost engineering functions including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis
- Knowledge of supervision, personnel administration, and training
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of financial reporting systems and controller account codes
- Intermediate level understanding of project controls general technical skills
- Knowledge of engineering and/or construction management
- Post-graduate coursework in a related field
- Expert level knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tools and processes
- Proven experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM)
- Advanced expertise in project controls with ability to develop advanced concepts and standards
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- 1 year assignment duration
- Work schedule:
9/80 (9-hour days with every other Friday off) - Full-time position from the start
- No on-call or overtime required
- No security clearance required
- A-Level access required
