Senior Design Engineers to support Plutonium Facilities Engineering Rapid Response Team.
Organization is looking to hire up to 2 engineers in electrical and civil/structural engineering disciplines. All positions will be in a Design Engineering role supporting projects at/around TA-55.
Responsibilities- Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance.
- Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses.
- Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline.
- Performs conventional design and analysis.
- Provides construction and project support.
- May lead projects and supervise the work of others.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work.
- Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 years of practical work experience necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above. Advanced engineering or technical degree is highly desired.
- This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
- Expert knowledge of industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) complex codes, standards, and criteria pertinent to your engineering discipline. Proven knowledge of applicable codes and standards in common use at DOE and DOD facilities (ASCE, ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc).
- Extensive prior experience facilitating design package development.
- Senior-level understating of common engineering design document deliverables.
- Experience in the use of common computer aided drafting software or mark-up software is desired.
- This position will require a candidate be able to receive and hold a DOE Q clearance and participate in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
