* The Integrated Weapons Experiments (J) Division's Engineering Operations and Physics (J-6) Group is seeking a Controls Engineer Post-Bachelor Student to support accelerator control system software and hardware for the Dual-Axis Radiographic Hydrodynamic Test (DARHT) Facility. J-6 delivers state-of-the-art capabilities in support of Los Alamos National Laboratory's hydrodynamic test mission. Core responsibilities include physics, diagnostics and data acquisition, controls, timing, pulsed power, mechanical systems, and operations essential to DARHT's accelerators.
The group also conducts R&D to advance accelerator capabilities.
In this role, the selected candidate will collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, technologists, and technicians on DARHT projects and programs, while receiving training on the specialized software and hardware used across both accelerators.

* ** Minimum
Job Requirements:
*
* ** Control Systems*
* Familiarity with common electronic/electrical test equipment, knowledge of data acquisition systems and the applications of creative problem-solving.
** Programming*
* Programming experience with high-level languages and control system software in a Microsoft Windows environment.
** Engineering*
* Demonstrated knowledge in electrical engineering, electrical drawings, one-line diagram, electrical circuits.
** Communication*
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to
interact with all levels of personnel and customers.
Experience with collaboration across
organizational boundaries and the ability to manage these relationships in a positive manner.
** Education/Experience** :
Must have earned a Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited institution within the last 3 years in Electrical Engineering.
Must have graduated with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent).

* Experience with electronics and typical lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and DVMs.
