Position: Nuclear and Hazardous Materials Tec 3/4
** What You Will Do*
* ** This position will be filled at either the Nuclear and Hazardous Tec 3/4 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if the candidate is hired at the higher level.*
* ** Nuclear and Hazardous Materials Tec 3 $ 66,100 - $103,600*
* You will work as a member of the Chief Operations Office Associate Laboratory Directorate of Weapons Production (COO), Process Maintenance and Decontamination Services Group (PMDS), Programmatic Maintenance and decontamination team for Weapons Production Facilities. The team is responsible for performing maintenance on programmatic equipment, glove box support systems, and decontamination to support program deliverables. You will support Decontamination and Maintenance activities and report to a First Line Manager for preparing, reviewing and working against approved integrated work document (IWD) specific to task and location and approved detailed operating procedures.

You will work with the organization responsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of programmatic equipment, (i.e., troubleshoot, repair and replace) as well as the decontamination, decommissioning and demolition of process equipment used at all Weapons Production Facilities.

* In addition to what was outlined at the lower level, at this level:

Apply established work methods and procedures to perform maintenance with less direct supervision. Work with other teams within the group to scope and schedule work. Follow prescribed procedures while completing work with limited direction from management. Prepare required decontamination or maintenance documentation and maintain appropriate work history logs. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team

** knowledge and experience with performing maintenance activities on various systems, equipment, and components.

** Equipment Types:
** experience maintaining systems and equipment with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.

** experience performing work in accordance with detailed work instructions, procedures, drawings, layouts and other related specifications.

** Work Environment:
** Ability to work in a glovebox with radioactive and hazardous materials.

** Training:
** Ability to remain current in all job-related training requirements.

Job Requirements for Nuclear and Hazardous Tech 4** :
In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:

** Leadership Role:
** Experience leadership and mentor role when working with junior team members.

** Equipment/Systems:
** experience interpreting and applying comprehensive knowledge and practical understanding of equipment and systems theory and principles.

** Problem Solving:
** Advanced knowledge and experience and demonstrated skill in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting programmatic equipment and performance assurance.

** Education and Experience - Nuclear and Hazardous Materials Tec 3:
** Position requires an Associate's degree and 3 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

** Education and Experience - Nuclear and Hazardous Materials Tec 4:
** Position requires an associate's degree and 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

** DOE Order 426.2A:
** Requires a High School Diploma.

Qualifications:

* + Experience leading walk downs and developing scope for maintenance activities.

+   History of accurately documenting work activities.

+   Experience writing and reviewing work authorizing documents.

+   Responsible for determining functional problems utilizing test equipment and diagnostic tools.
